Deleting your account

Three separate things. Each one says exactly what goes.

From inside the app

Open Me → Settings & account and scroll to Leaving. Each option asks you to confirm on a screen that names precisely what it removes.

Pause my account

Your posts, replies and profile stop being visible to anyone. Nothing is deleted. Sign back in whenever you are ready and it all comes back exactly as it was.

Delete everything I’ve written

Every post, every reply, every message you sent. Replies other people left on your posts go with them. Your account, your circles and your care marks stay. There is no archive and no undo.

Delete my account

Your account, your name, your picture, your circles and everything you have written. All of it, permanently, including from our backups within 30 days.

One thing survives: if a moderator took action about you, a record of that action, its date and who took it remains, with your identifying details removed. Without it, someone removed for taking posts outside a circle could simply delete and re-register.

If you cannot get into the app

Email privacy@kindsoup.com from the address on the account. We will confirm it is you, delete it, and write back when it is done — usually within a few days, always within 30.

Take your writing with you first

Settings → Download everything I’ve written gives you a file of your profile, posts, replies and messages. Do this before deleting; afterwards there is nothing left to export.

Before you go

If you are leaving because of something that happened here, a moderator would rather hear about it — moderators@kindsoup.com. It is your call either way, and nobody will try to talk you out of it.
