The Kind Soup Care Score
KS5 means extensive daily care.
Hands-on daily, and leaving the house takes arranging. Other things are being dropped.
What somebody at KS5 is doing
If somebody told you this is their number, this is roughly what their week looks like.
- Hands-on care daily, and going anywhere takes arranging.
- Washing, dressing or feeding are theirs to do.
- Friendships, hobbies and their own appointments are being lost.
It measures the work, not the illness
The Care Score is 1 to 10 for how much care somebody is actually giving. Two people looking after someone with the same diagnosis can be at KS3 and KS9, because what separates them is hours, nights, whether the person can be left, and whether anyone else helps.
KS0 is reserved for people who cared for somebody until they died. It is not a diagnosis and it is not medical advice.
